Shri Guru Ram Das Ji

Guru Ram Das Ji (1534–1581) was the fourth Sikh Guru, known for his humility, devotion, and service. Born as Bhai Jetha in Lahore, he became a devoted disciple of Guru Amar Das Ji and later his son-in-law. Guru Ram Das Ji founded the city of Amritsar and initiated the construction of the sacred Sarovar, where the Golden Temple stands today. He composed many hymns, including the Lavan, which is recited in Sikh weddings. He emphasized selfless service, spiritual growth, and community development. Before his passing, he appointed his son, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, as his successor, ensuring Sikhism's expansion.
