Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji

Guru Arjan Dev Ji (1563–1606) was the fifth Sikh Guru and a pivotal figure in Sikh history. He compiled the Adi Granth, the sacred scripture that later became the Guru Granth Sahib, and built the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar, symbolizing Sikh unity and inclusivity. Guru Arjan promoted social welfare, encouraged honest living, and strengthened Sikh institutions. His commitment to righteousness led to his martyrdom under Mughal Emperor Jahangir, making him the first Sikh martyr. Despite immense suffering, he remained devoted to God, inspiring Sikhs to uphold truth and justice. His sacrifice cemented Sikhism’s resilience and spiritual foundation.
